A new chapter

Four years ago I left employment to start working as a freelancer.
Within the Dutch law I was defined as a ‘ZZP’ which is a definition like ‘freelance without personnel’.
Over this period I’ve:

  • Had the previledge of being awarded by Microsoft with the MVP Award for my contributions to the community for Windows PowerShell.
  • Worked at some great customers.
  • Met intelligent and inspirational people.
  • Gained much, both in life experiences and in technical knowledge.

Now, what’s with the title of this post? What new chapter?

As of the 1st of January 2016 I will no longer be a freelancer… but I’ll start my own business instead.
Like I wrote, a ‘ZZP’ is without personnel and frankly, I’ve got so much work these days that I can’t do it on my own anymore… so I need to hire someone.
Now, there are multiple ways to approach this and starting a business where I can hire people is the one I’ve chosen.
This also because of other things I’m planning for the future, but more on that a some later time…

Over the last few months I’ve contacted some people and notified them of my ideas.
Some of them I’ve also told that they were on my short-list of 5 (!) people I want to hire.
If you’re one of those five, I’ll be contacting you next year again for sure 😉

I hope that I’ll be able to put the new company website online soon and tell you more about what we’ll be offering and the approach we will take.

Well, that’s all folks… 🙂
